Gherkins, jams, tea, salt beef on rye, extra onions, Marmite® with cucumber, homemade Liptauer cheese, pumpkin soup, German gingerbread houses. We would go here everyday to actually try every single item on the menu if we lived next door. Paul Rothe & Son Delicatessen in Marylebone has been doing things right since 1900, simply and perfectly. You walk into a cozy area with a few tables surrounded by loads of goodies. The lads behind the counter are so friendly that you want to invite them to sit down with you to share a cup of tea, a biscuit, something. We are convinced that one of them must still be a Paul. Meeting a lot of Pauls here in London, and deli or no deli, we fancy them all.
